Gambling policy (including map appendix 1 and map appendix 2)

This policy considers:

• the licensing objectives of the Gambling Act 2005
• the current guidance issued by the Gambling Commission
• any relevant current statutory regulations
• codes of practice issued by the Secretary of State
• any responses from those consulted on the policy statement.

Sex establishment policy

This policy sets out how we will make decisions under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982. 

Statement of licensing policy

This policy recognises the revised Home Office statutory guidance issued under section 182 of the Licensing Act 2003 and has regard to it whenever it is deemed necessary to promote the licensing objectives. 

Street trading policy

This policy’s aim is to:

• create a street trading environment which complements premises based trading
• is sensitive to the needs and amenities of residents
• provides diversity of consumer choice 
• seeks to enhance the character, and ambience of local environments

Taxi policy

This policy of consolidated practices is written pursuant to the powers conferred by the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976, as amended. This places on us the duty to carry out its licensing functions as to hackney carriage and private hire vehicles.

Environmental Health and Community Safety Enforcement Policy

This document sets out the general principles to be followed in relation to enforcement and prosecution.

Animal Licensing Policy

This policy and the conditions included represent guidance on details of the service that we provide. It also includes the general principles that the we follow in relation to the enforcement of animal licensing legislation and the discretionary functions it undertakes.

Empty Homes Strategy

Nationally a shortage of housing may give rise to increased homelessness and difficulty for some in accessing affordable accommodation. Where property lies empty this can impact the lives of people in the neighbourhood and can be a magnet for anti-social behaviour. Bringing empty homes back into use will help improve the quality of housing and neighbourhoods and help to provide more affordable homes

This revised Empty Homes Strategy builds on the last strategy (2014-2017) and sets out how the council will continue its work to reduce the number of empty homes in Exeter from 2019 until 2022.

Financial Assistance Policy For the Better Care Fund

This policy sets out the areas on which Exeter City Council will focus Better Care Fund resources in order to improve housing conditions across the district.

Mobile Home Sites Fit and Proper Person Assessment Fee Policy

This policy sets out the approach taken in the setting of fees for the processing of applications for the Fit and Proper Person Assessment, (FPPA) for the owners and managers of residential mobile home sites.
