Exeter empty homes loan

Exeter empty homes loans are provided to owners of long term empty homes by Wessex Home Improvement Loans (WHIL), a community development finance institution working in partnership with us. The maximum low-cost loan available through this scheme is £15,000.

Once the loan is agreed and the property is refurbished, the owner is free to let the property privately or sell it. The cost of the refurbishment work is funded by a subsidised loan which is repayable through the rental income or sale of the property. To be eligible for the scheme, the property must have been empty for 6 months. Please contact us to discuss suitability on 01392 265685.

A matchmaking service is available that links up owners of empty properties with individuals interested in purchasing empty properties that are in need of renovation. Once a potential buyer has been matched to a potential seller, any subsequent transaction would be between the seller and the buyer only and we always advise both parties to get an independent valuation and to always use a solicitor.

If you are interested in the matchmaking scheme, please contact the empty homes service for more information on 01392 265685.
