Pay your Council Tax

If you have a debit or credit card you can pay your Council Tax now, all you need is your account reference.

By far the easiest way to pay your Council Tax is by Direct Debit. This can be set easily on our Set up a Direct Debit page.

Your account number and your debit or credit card.

Click Start to go to payment pages. Click on the Council Tax option.

Post Office and PayPoint

Take your bill to any Post Office or PayPoint outlet. There is a barcode on the bill which they will need to scan.

You can find your nearest branch by using the Post Office Branch Finder.

Through online/phone banking

Send your payment to:

Exeter City Council, Customer Services Centre, Civic Centre, Paris Street, Exeter, EX1 1JN.

Make cheques and postal orders (crossed) payable to "Exeter City Council". Write your account reference on the back of the cheque. We will not issue a receipt.
